| Knights of Columbus The Knights of Columbus is the leading Catholic fraternal organization in the world, open to adult Catholic men. The service organization, founded in New Haven, CT in 1882, is based on the four ideals of Charity, Unity, Fraternity, and Patriotism. The Needham Knights of Columbus (Council 1611) serves three Parishes (St. Joseph, St. Bartholomew and Mary Immaculate of Lourdes). All Catholic men over the age of 18 are encouraged to join. There isn’t a great time commitment; we meet on the first Wednesday of each month. For more information contact Bob Timmerman at 781-444-3419, Bill Flanagan at 781-444-6066 or Mike Fraini at 781-455-0099. We sponsor several family-based activities and fundraisers to support our many charitable works. Our annual scholarship program benefits 8th grade students in the three Parishes we serve who are going on to Catholic high schools. For more information, contact Tom Harkins, Scholarship Committee Chair at 781-444-0496; harkins2@rcn.com. We also host a monthly Men’s Prayer and Discussion Group which prays and discusses the Sunday Mass readings as they apply to our lives at home, at work and in society. All men are invited to join us on the first Saturday of each month from 7 - 8 a.m. at the Knights of Columbus Hall on Highland Avenue. Coffee and refreshments are available at 6:30 a.m. Call Ted Harrigan at 781-449-0335 for more information. | | | | "For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also."
