Needham Bus Transportation Needham residents receive information directly from the Needham Public School’s Transportation Office regarding bus transportation. Depending on where you live your child may qualify for free transportation or you can participate in fee based bus transportation. In either case it is important that you fill out and return the appropriate forms as soon as possible to ensure your child receives his/her bus pass. If you have not received information by the end of August, contact the Needham Transportation Office directly at 781-455-0400, ext 242. The Transportation Office is located next to our Kindergarten Center at 1330 Highland Avenue. The town’s bus routes are published in the Needham Times during the last week of August. You will need to determine the bus stop closest to your home using this information. Driving/Carpooling: Drop-Off & Pick-Up Policies Please be aware of the NO PARKING zones: Highland Avenue in front of the church and Kindergarten Center The residential side of Oakland Avenue May Street in front of the Middle School Either side of Pickering Street next to the Elementary School In the driveway or parking lot of the Needham School Administration building next to our Kindergarten Center Morning Drop Off Kindergarten Center: Park and escort your child to the front or back door Elementary & Middle Schools: Pull into the left side of the back parking lot off Highland Ave, single file. If you need to go into the building in the morning, pull over and park to the far right of the parking lot against the fence. Afternoon Pick Up Kindergarten Center: Kindergarten is dismissed 10 minutes earlier than grades 1-5. Older siblings of kindergarten students will be escorted to the corner of May and Oakland Streets for pick up. You can join the single file carpool line which starts on May Street along the church and extends around the corner onto Oakland Avenue OR you can park and meet your children outside Elementary & Middle Schools: Pull into the back parking lot off Highland Ave; form four lines. The far left line is for Middle School pick-up. The others are for Elementary School pick-up. As you advance toward the front of the line your child will be escorted to you. If you need to go into the building in the afternoon, you MAY NOT pull over and park to the far right of the parking lot against the fence. Please find parking elsewhere.
